Firefighters battle 30-acre brush fire south of Brownsville; nine agencies respond

BROWNSVILLE, Ore. — A brush fire erupted approximately six miles south of Brownsville on Wednesday near the intersection of Gap Road and Belts Drive.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:26 p.m. on July 23 and arrived to find the blaze in a field advancing toward timber.

According to the landowner, the fire ignited from a spark while mowing brush in rocky terrain.
